Introduction to Weaving
Instructor: Marilyn Romatka

Art
09-2009
Learn weaving from the ancient beginnings, through simple looms, on to more complex looms, following the order of the development of looms. We will also cover related textile techniques; Sprang, twinning, Inkle loom, card weaving, back-strap weaving, tapestry, rigid heddle loom, and 4-harness loom (for weaving twill).  All basic weaving techniques and vocabulary will be covered.
This class is kept small on purpose, ensuring each student gets a strong understanding of the principles of each technique. This could be the start of a lifetime delight in textiles!
Adults will love taking this class too!
