This course is designed to provide a good understanding of how the government of the United States works. We will begin with the founding of our country and how our country's unique way of governing came into being. We will look at the most important documents that provide the operating framework. We will learn about governmental operations at all three levels beginning with Federal, then State and Local government. Students will learn how laws are passed, how officials and representatives are elected, the role of the courts, how taxes are imposed, and many other things which are very important to everyday life. This is a class every student should take in order to have the information they need when they are able to vote. We will have some fun along the way as we come to learn about the workings of the government of the United States of America
