This course combines a foundational course on the topic of journalism as it applies to the media as it appears in newspapers, radio, TV, and the Internet and the various aspects of how journalists work. The course also includes development, planning, writing, editing, and producing the Labyrinth newspaper, "The Scratching Post." Students take turns experiencing the different newspaper "jobs" throughout the year. Typically classes include a 30-minute lecture/discussion on specific journalism topics, complemented by planning and producing the newspaper.
