This will be a low-pressure class designed to help kids develop a joy in something that can give them a simple satisfaction all their lives: drawing.
Did you know "Drawing" was once taught along with the basics of Math and Reading? It's less ability as it is some helpful direction.
We'll do different things in our time together: learning to draw is one. Part of that will be keeping their own journal to encourage and develop their skill and satisfaction. We'll talk about different ways of doing the book - from nature journal to travelogue. We'll also peruse and try out the styles of the Impressionists - artists that had a kid-like style.

This is for journal and drawing pen, big newsprint pad and cray-pas, plus special projects stuff we'll use in class, like paint and paper. |
