Are you ready for emergencies? Has your family been meaning to get ready for the unexpected? We'll study what constitutes an emergency and ways adults and young people can prepare to respond to them safely and effectively. Students will learn CPR and first aid, perform a home hazards assessment, create a family emergency resource book, make a family emergency plan and a fire escape plan, and assemble a first aid kit, a car kit, and a 3 Days/3 Ways kit customized to your family. Be more prepared for babysitting and backcountry experiences. Feel confident you know what to do while keeping yourself safe. We'll read amazing stories of survival, participate in scenarios to practice skills, use checklists and flowcharts, do inventories, and learn about community emergency response. Don't be frightened; be ready! Class taught by retired professional firefighter/EMT and homeschooling mom. Great parent/child class. Second family member half price (sharing printed materials).
