This is a class that requires no prior experience, but if they have prior experience, it will be helpful. They will learn some basic drawing skills,terminology and techniques of drawing and painting. Many mediums are used throughout the year. Pencils, charcoals, watercolor paints, acrylics, pastels, and possibly paper mache. There is a lot of instruction, and individual help as time allows. I do demos, and provide an opportunity to try new and different mediums and styles. This is a class that can be repeated many years before moving on to the intermediate class, if necessary. The more experience they get in each medium, the more efficient they become. I do not rush through projects. I believe that the process is as important as the product. I play music, and try to make it a fun environment.
