This class is an interactive survey of Psychology.  I have selected an excellent book that will guide motivated students to be able to pass the AP Psychology exam with a 5. However, this class isn't just for the AP-minded student--it's for any student that wants a survey of Psychology. We will spend class time interactively learning about psychology and discussing what we have read in each Chapter.  Some class time will be devoted to watching suggested movies.  Essay topics are suggested for each chapter, and I would like to see each student turn in two - three essays on topics that motivate them over the course of 1 year.

We will cover the following topics:
1. Introduction and History of Psychology
2. Research Methods
3. Biopsychology and the Foundations of Neuroscience
4. Sensation and Perception
5. States of Consciousness
6. Learning
7. Cognition
8. Emotion and Motivation
9. Psychological Development
10. Personality
11. Testing and Individual Differences
12. Psychological Disorders
13. Therapies for Psychological Disorders
14. Social Psychology

I envision this class to be fun, engaging, and illuminating.
